HIS STORY

Diego's journey has been a tapestry woven with profound moments. While most teenagers treasure memories of acquiring their driver's license, celebrating their sweet 16, or attending prom, Diego's most indelible memory harks back to 2002. It was the year he arrived at Pastor Aaron Blake's doorstep, a moment charged with emotions. Yet, what transpired that day was more than mere shelter; it was a revelation of immense significance.

In that pivotal moment, Pastor Blake looked deeply into Diego's eyes and imparted a life-altering message. He urged Diego to cast aside any vestiges of a foster care mentality and boldly declared, "You are not a foster child; you are 'Engrafted' into my family." This lesson took root in Diego's heart, but its full realization would take nearly a decade to flourish.

In 2014, Diego released an album titled "Engrafted." This musical work served as a poignant reflection of his odyssey through the foster care system. It stood as a testament to his unwavering resilience and served as a guiding light of hope for others who had treaded similar paths.

Diego's commitment to making a difference in the lives of foster children transcends his music. He has tirelessly collaborated with numerous foster care organizations, leveraging his platform to illuminate the challenges faced by the fatherless and advocate for their support.

Moreover, Diego has embarked on extensive journeys across the country, sharing his personal narrative and insights to bridge the gap between the state and the church for foster children. His passion lies in ensuring that every foster child finds a nurturing and supportive home, and this dedication has become the driving force behind his life's mission.

Today, Diego stands as a beacon of hope and an unwavering advocate for foster children. He has not only answered the call to plant a church in Keller, Texas but has also devoted himself to making a lasting impact on the lives of these vulnerable youth and fostering positive change within the foster care system. His story remains a testament to the transformative power of love, faith, and resolute determination.

Diego's Philosophy of Ministry

The Journey I've been on has led me to believe there is no higher calling in life than to have a consistent, integrity, deep, and loving relationship with God. For that reason, "I have committed myself to know Christ and his divine power." (2nd Peter 1:3). The deepest desire of my soul is to know God in the most intimate way possible and make him known to the world. Having received His gift of salvation by faith, I have come to understand that learning and loving God is more than words, and it's what I express from my heart. Jesus said, "If you love me, you will obey what I command." (John 14:15). If I commit to holding this scripture as truth, then my desire to love Him should and must be equal to my desire to obey Him and live out worship from my heart. Worship is my love being expressed to Jesus in response to what he has done for me on the cross. Having studied the Bible regarding this matter, it is clear to me that God has called each believer to worship Him with our lives., according to the gifts the Holy Spirit has placed upon those who are in Christ. From the depths of my soul and heart, I am convinced that God has called me to be a lead pastor and to serve Him in that capacity. With this calling, there are at least three driving values that I seek to maintain and which serve as a foundation for my philosophy of ministry: As a man who has been Engrafted and called by God to love and serve Him as a minister of the gospel, I recognize and affirm that I am foremost a servant of people. That being said, I commit my life to the spiritual success of others. I am a shepherd who will take care of his sheep. To those who need help, I will help. To those who are lost, I will lead to those that hunger for truth, I will feed. To those who are hurt, I will care too. To those who need God, I will show them, Christ.
